The use of ΒΙΜ (Building Information Modelling) tools is a recent development in the field of design services, which has introduced a new working environment for all the parties involved in the projects, from the design stage, to the construction and finally to the project lifecycle, in terms of maintenance. During the design stage BIM enables the exchange of information between the design teams, which is incorporated in the model and serves not only the coordination of the various disciplines, but also promote the design project to the fourth, fifth and sixth dimension (information regarding construction sequencing, costs and project lifecycle respectively), supporting the decision-making during all project stages.
