The project aims at the connection of the industrial park Thisvi and Inofyta to the main high velocity railway line Athens - Thessaloniki at an advanced preliminary design stage.

Further to that, a preliminary environmental impact assessment was submitted, which is now being approved. In the scope of the overall route planning, preliminary design for the structural works is to follow. The significant project difficulties are related mainly to the fact that the route planning passes through densely built areas and also to the complexity of the required connection to existing industrial complexes and existing railway stations. The project has a budget of €135 million.
