The Government of Kosovo has been engaged in a wide-ranging rail reform programme to bring its transportation sector into compliance with European Union directives. The Kosovo Multi Modal Transport Strategy 2015 – 2025 aspires to achieve the following: connection with European Corridors, improvement in the quality of services and in the safety. One of the basic components of the programme is the railway link to Pristina Airport, which includes the rehabilitation of the existing railway line from the capital city Pristina to Pristina Airport, the construction of the missing link from the existing line to the passenger terminal and the construction of the Railway Terminal within the Airport.
OBERMEYER’s assignment embraces the provision of services for the feasibility study and ESIA for the railway link to the airport and the new airport passenger terminal, including all the necessary surveys, studies, analyses, the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), the investigation of alternative routes and the preliminary engineering design services for the 15 km – long single-track railway line with a design speed of max. 100 km/h and the airport passenger terminal.
Services Provided
The scope of services includes the execution of surveys and the elaboration of all necessary analyses, studies and designs in two phases: pre-feasibility and feasibility, the latter including the preliminary technical designs.
